About Us

Welcome to the website of the Friars of the Sick Poor, Los Angeles.

We are a Public Association of Consecrated Life in view of being erected in the future and living as if they already are a Secular Institute of Diocesan Right.

We live, work and minister to the sick-poor and the marginalized within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and beyond.

What We Live for and By

"Hope" is our charism through which we assist others to find meaning in their suffering and sickness, acknowledging it as being redemptive and inviting them to a fuller life within the church. We are called to advocate on behalf of our brothers and sisters, who often cannot speak for themselves.

About Us

Vows

We profess the vows of Chastity, Obedience, and Poverty, seeing them in terms of Loving, Listening, and Serving. We also profess a fourth vow of Self-Sufficiency, lives in solidarity with the sick poor.
